From the Principal
If you have a grade 3, 4 or 5 student at home at present, thanks for having some added patience with them being so tired due to Swimming and Water Safety! It is a fantastic program and thank you to Mr Thomas for his organisation of the 2 weeks but we also know that it is extremely tiring for our students… we also know that they eat a lot more food. Cooked Lunch has had next to no leftovers lately! If you can remind your child to schedule some extra recovery time in, they most likely would very much benefit from it.
Friday Afternoon Sports
This year we are again involved in our Friday afternoon sports (a mix of netball, soccer and football) with local schools in the area. We participate every second Friday and so far, it has been going very well. Importantly, thank you to the parents and community members who are helping out during the term. We really could not have done it without your support.
Cambridge Capabilities - Overall
This week is the last week of exploring Recovering and our last of the explicitly taught Cambridge Capabilities of the year. This will mark 14 Capabilities thus far.
We are currently working with Inclusive Creatives to bring the project to life. Early next term we will be able to start showing some imagery and how we will provide graphic supports to tie the project together and provide an ongoing visual support for students in class and families at home.
Redevelopment Update
We are only about 6 weeks away from finishing the talking and the consulting to enable enough time to finish off the drawings ready for a tender in mid-October.
In the office you will also find some samples of bricks, carpets, pinboards and acoustic ceilings, cabinet tones and laminates. Getting very much to the real stage!
We are simultaneously working on a furniture brief to ensure that everything is ordered and supplied in good time for the rooms and other spaces.
Term 3 is a busy term and a great term for learning – we look forward to seeing you all around school soon. Thanks for helping your children build their independence!
See you all soon – Courtney
