27 March 2024
From the Principal
Over the past fortnight, we have completed 100% of NAPLAN, with 81 students participating across the school in year 3 and year 5. A huge thank you to Mr. Pearson for his organisation and administration of the NAPLAN assessments and to the teachers who supported the administration of the assessments. Special thanks to Mrs Birchall, Mr Lodge and the Gr 3/4 team for relocating classrooms. A great effort!
Quick Building Update and Request
We appreciate the support of our families utilising the 'drop and go' zone during the redevelopment. Please note, on the last day of term – Friday 12 April VOS have notified us of their intention to pour concrete (weather permitting) for the new building. As a result, the carpark will be closed for part of the morning. They are hoping to have finished the pour by 8:30am but we suspect this may be delayed and cars will not be able to enter the school gates. Please use the street frontage and we will have additional staff on duty to support this interruption. I’d like to again, thank you for your continued co-operation during this phase.
Last Thursday, we held the CPS School Association AGM and the first general meeting for 2024. Thank you to all members who attended. Please see Angela Kerrison-Smith’s School Association report later in the newsletter.
Parents, if you think you might be interested in the Vice Chair vacancy or attending our next meeting scheduled for Wednesday 29 May at 5:30pm, we would love to see you there.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Matt Fenton, parents and the volunteer fire fighters who were hosting a school BBQ fundraiser, onsite on Saturday during voting for the election. Special thanks to the Fenton family for kindly organising and supporting this initiative, raising over $800 for the school.
Enjoy the extra long weekend, Kristy Hay.
